Students will work with the Manufacturing Engineering Technology Program to design and build a laboratory sized rainfall sander for use in the investment casting lab. This rainfall sander is a vital component of the investment casting process and the upgrade to the new system will assist in reducing variation, improving part quality, improving ergonomics, and greatly increasing production rates in the molding process. A new system of the target size would cost the university around $10,000. Our team’s goal is to match industry standards and quality on a greatly reduced budget.
None of this would be possible without the financial support of alumni and friends of PSU. We ask you to consider a financial gift to the Rainfall Sander Team.
