The Student Veterans Organization at Pittsburg State University, led by advisors Dr. Carol Meza-Bakke and Professor Chris Bakke, is organizing a trip to Washington DC in the summer of 2024 for student veterans. This trip aims to explore military monuments, the White House, and includes a special visit to the 9/11 Memorial in New York. Given the significance of this trip, particularly for veterans from the Iraq War era, the organization seeks support from individuals and organizations to cover travel expenses, accommodation, and meals. They believe this trip will provide veterans with a well-deserved break and a meaningful opportunity to reflect on their service while honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
