The Slice and Seal project's end goal is to produce dog waste bags for the Plastics Engineering Department at Pittsburg State University. The department's hope is to be able to give away these bags at recruiting events and other open house or family events. For the project, we are tasked with taking the blown film produced tube and running them through our sealing and perforating machine. Our machine will consist of a "let off" roller, which will release the plastic film to move through the machine. Once a specified length has been set and the plastic film reaches the middle of the machine, the sealer and perforator will lower, which will seal and perforate the plastic film.Once the film has been sealed and perforated, it will move to the end of the machine and be rolled up onto a "take up" roller and be ready to be removed from the machine. After the bags have been removed from the machine, they will be ready to hand out at various events hosted by the Plastics Engineering Department throughout the year.
