Geeks for Kids is an organization based through the Learn Science and Math Club that helps children achieve goals where they were previously limited. Geeks for Kids builds electric vehicles that are customized for each child, giving them the ability to move around freely on their own. This has brought much to children that suffer from mobility issues. Our mission as Pittsburg State students is to team up with Geeks for Kids and redesign a new rollbar and medical equipment container for these vehicles. The old rollbar has presented a few issues when it comes to safety and transportation. Also, there currently is no protective case to protect the vital equipment these children must carry in order to survive. Additionally, these vehicles currently lack a sunshade so we have been tasked with designing one to fit the vehicles. Our goal is to raise $1,500 in order to redesign and manufacture a new rollbar, medical equipment container and a sunshade. All donations that are not used during this year's project will be donated directly to next year's team.We thank you for your consideration of a gift towards making our education experience a success, and for allowing us to pay it forward to children in need.To learn more about Geeks for Kids, visit here.
